Got any thoughts? Here’s the place to air them.
If you comment for the first time and it doesn’t appear it’s cos I is in bed and haven’t ‘Approved’ you yet. Once approved you can post to your hearts content. I’ve had a belly full of vindictive trolls so you won’t see many on here. If you want me to be more relaxed on that so you can tear them a new one, let me know and I’ll change the moderation rules.
Gosh, I’m all on my own!
Hello! Anybody here?
I’ve left a comment on James Delingpole’s blog as he he’s quitting the Telegraph.
Hopefully, a few of the old hands will migrate here. Post anything you want, catweazle.
Hey, down arrows!
Looks like you’ve got trolls, Grumpy!
You know, if it keeps up like this, I’m going to feel right at home here!
There I was, having recently left dear old blighty, sitting in the lounge of my new home, exhausted from unpacking boxes and thinking to myself, “Hmm I wonder if dear old Dellers has a new blog over at Telegraph Towers.” and then BLAMMO!
Yep but the upside, on a personal level, is that I’ll have more time for my wife and mastering bread making. My bloomers are something to behold, I might tell you.
What about your buns?
Cheeky!
Good to see u using your loaf grumps.(sorry)
Anyway must dash, am actually 3/4 of the way through the very last chapter, just popped over to Telegraph Towers for a wee break and a chin wag before getting back to the grindstone.
Take care grumps. Talk soon.
Gypsey hopes you recover quickly and wishes you guys well. Where have you moved to?
Gypsey ((((((((((Hugz))))))))))
What the hell is going on at the DT?
As far as I can tell, a new editor is in the pipeline.
Who it is likely to be, or what policies s/he will espouse, is not at this point clear.
Seems its decided to jettison its right wing bloggers and go head down arse up as the voice of the Bright Blue Cameroonian, tory suck up liberal latte quaffing Notting Hillbillies.
With Dellers going there little reason to step foot in that rag anymore imho and get bombarded by soft left, pro eu, anti UKIP rubbish. No thanks.
“Seems its decided to jettison its right wing bloggers…”
It will be fascinating to see how such a shift will pan out, given the present political climate.
I suspect it won’t augur well for the bottom line, personally, JD’s blog attracted an audience that will fall off rapidly now he isn’t there, and this will be reflected in the advertising budgets when they come up for review.
I note from the calendar that today is the Wythenshawe and Sale East by-election, which is going to be very instructive indeed. My guess is that UKIP will hammer the Tories and give Labour a nasty shock, unfortunately I believe the possibility of a UKIP win is small but definitely finite, hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Oh, and the limp Dims will lose their deposit.
Well if the rumours are true Labour won the by-election on postal voting alone, pretty much the day it was announced. Nigel’s letter to the electoral commission was an eye opener.
Anyhow, gotsta dash.
back in a cpl days.
Grumpy
Am I welcome here?
I don’t understand the difference between this page, and the author enablement or where I posted a comment before.
Did you get my video? Of course you’re welcome here. But as you have a lot to say it would be better done via your own Guest Post section, otherwise your thoughts will get diluted in the basic comments sections.
If you don’t understand the video I’ll try and do a screen cast for you.
There is also a US Politics page for random thoughts, if you prefer.

Hey all, will be honest that I’ve known about this for some time, so won’t bother feigning emotion or anything else like that. Good to see your site ticking along so well Grumps.
Just wondering what others will be doing in terms of DT subscriptions? It’s not expensive, but is there any point?
I only visited for JD really and if I wanted to read non-blog stuff I just opened a private window and this seemed to confound the cookies thing. I can live without the DT to be honest.
It won’t miss me and I won’t miss it.
OK Grumps, yeah, will cancel and get around the system if required.
Funny that you appear to have attracted a troll here going by some down-votes above. lol. Night sir, must be around bedtime for you.
It is bedtime and if JD was still operational I would have have been in bed an hour ago. But I wanted to get this thread opened and as many regulars ‘Approved’ before I hit the sack.
Goodnight.
I (doesntplaywellwithothers) was away for 8 months, a combination of working abroad and moving house. I only came back to say Hi this week. Now JD is going theres nothing there for me, nor Bionic.
Hey Christina, sounds like big things going on; glad for you, and nice to see you again after so long.
The DT is a mess. Have seen it with floundering companies, they make things worse by focusing on reorganisations, process, and technology as opposed to soul in the product. Print media as a whole is struggling really, only the far left publications felt the pinch first.
So the DT decided to join them and morph into a far left publication. Imitation being the finest form of flattery!
HI there MRP
nice to see you too
“It’s not expensive, but is there any point?”
It’s free if you have a decent cookie manager.
Yep, my bad, when I relented I didn’t think things through properly in terms of ways to get around the system.
hank you for posting the link Grumpy. I will be here for sure. I feel better now lol.
In case anyone hasn’t come across it yet, this is an excellent tool for watching the wind velocities and directions.
http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/1000hPa/orthographic=0.00,53.92,3000
It is highly configurable, just click on the “Earth” label.
Hours of fun if you like that sort of thing.
Is this the end of the beginning?….. Or the beginning of the end?
No, it’s the beginning of the end of the beginning which will begin at the end of the beginning.
Does it have an index?
Anybody else catch this piece on BBC R4 “Today” this morning?
Is climate change a factor in the recent extreme weather?
Sir Brian Hoskins, a member of the Committee on Climate Change, and Lord Nigel Lawson, former Chancellor of the Exchequer and founding chairman of the Global Warming Policy Foundation, discuss the extent to which man-made climate change is a factor in the recent extreme weather.
http://audioboo.fm/boos/1918919-is-climate-change-a-factor-in-the-recent-extreme-weather
Remarkably even-handed for the BBC. Hoskins was in serious danger of losing his rag, and Lawson as actually permitted the last word.
Would you let me distribute this on my twitter?
I doubt I’ll be bothering with the DT very much, I didn’t like the way it was going anyway.
I’ll be following JD around of course and I’ll bump into you guys there and here 🙂
Gil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 Hi
Hi de Hi
Long time no and all that, glad to see you back in circulation 🙂
I am a little lost here but would like to comment on the Agenda 21 article.
There is no such thing as sustainability; neither on earth nor in the universe as a whole. Everything, be it a bacterium or a galaxy or a species of animal will die, disappear or change beyond recognition eventually.
The idea of sustainability is a construct to make the control over the many by the few possible.
I point all to to the great poet Robbie Burns “The best laid plans o’ mice and men, go aft a’gley, And lea’s us nought but grief and pain, For promised joy”
Feel free to comment in any section, Doug.
